Core capability
Make the right information available at the right moment.
We connect products to the systems, data, and workflows they depend on through reliable APIs, integration layers, data pipelines, and interoperability patterns.
What this covers
- API strategy and designDesign interfaces other teams can build on with confidence.
- Integration engineeringConnect to systems that were not designed together.
- Data foundationsMake the underlying information dependable enough to act on.
- Operability and governanceKnow when an integration is failing before your customers tell you.
01The problem
Integration is where products meet reality
Very few high-stakes products operate alone. They read from a core banking system, write to a practice-management platform, reconcile against a ledger, or exchange records with a partner whose API was designed for a different purpose entirely.
Integration work is where optimistic plans meet inconvenient truths: partial failures, inconsistent identifiers, rate limits, unclear ownership of a record, and systems that were never designed to be connected.
We treat those realities as design inputs rather than surprises — because the difference between a product that is trusted and one that is tolerated is often what happens when an upstream system misbehaves.
02What we do
How the work is put together.
API strategy and design
Design interfaces other teams can build on with confidence.
- API strategy and product-fit definition
- REST and event-driven interface design
- Versioning, deprecation and contract testing
- Developer documentation and onboarding
Integration engineering
Connect to systems that were not designed together.
- Third-party and partner system integration
- Identity, access and delegated authorisation
- Interoperability layers and translation
- Workflow orchestration and retries
Data foundations
Make the underlying information dependable enough to act on.
- Data modelling and canonical identifiers
- ETL / ELT pipelines
- Data quality rules and reconciliation
- Reporting and analytics foundations
Operability and governance
Know when an integration is failing before your customers tell you.
- Integration monitoring and alerting
- Error semantics and replay strategies
- Governance-minded access controls
- Audit trails across system boundaries
03Outcomes
What changes when this works.
- Integrations that degrade predictably instead of failing silently
- A canonical view of the entities the business argues about
- APIs that partners and internal teams can adopt without hand-holding
- Reconciliation that catches drift before it becomes a dispute
- Clear ownership of records across system boundaries
- Reporting built on data people are willing to trust
The Inorbit Product Loop
Progress without losing the plot.
Align
We clarify users, outcomes, constraints, risks, and the decisions that matter most — so the team is solving the same problem before anyone writes code.
What you get
- Problem and opportunity framing
- User and workflow map
- Success measures
- Risk and constraint register
Architect
We shape the product, platform, data, integration, security, and cloud foundations, and record the trade-offs behind each decision.
What you get
- Architecture position and rationale
- Tenancy, identity and data model
- Integration and API approach
- Delivery plan and first release scope
Build
We work in focused increments with design, engineering, quality, and product thinking together rather than in sequence.
What you get
- Working software in production
- Design system and accessible UI
- Automated test and release pipeline
- Observability from the first release
Accelerate
We improve adoption, performance, intelligence, release confidence, and operating leverage using what the product has actually taught us.
What you get
- Adoption and behaviour insight
- Performance and reliability improvement
- Prioritised next-phase roadmap
- Ongoing engineering capacity
Where we apply it
Domain context changes these decisions.
Questions
Straight answers.
If your question is not here, ask it directly — we would rather have the conversation than write a longer page.
Carefully and defensively. We characterise the real behaviour of the interface — including its failure modes, rate limits and inconsistencies — and put an anti-corruption layer between it and your product, so a quirky upstream system does not shape your domain model permanently.
It depends on whether integration is a growth capability or an implementation detail. If partners, customers or an ecosystem will build against it, an API deserves product treatment: versioning, documentation, support and a deprecation policy. If it is one internal connection, point-to-point is often the honest answer.
By deciding explicitly which system owns each record, choosing between synchronous and eventual consistency per workflow, and building reconciliation that reports drift rather than assuming it will not happen. Most consistency incidents come from an unstated assumption about ownership.
Yes — we work with standards-based exchange as part of healthcare platform engineering. Where a specific standard, profile or certification is required for your context, we scope that against your actual obligations rather than making a general claim about compliance.
